Following the success of its inaugural event last year, the Algarve Historic Festival 2010 returns after resounding approval from all in attendance. All the ingredients that make up the Algarve Historic event point to 2010 being a success, a fantastic facility in the Autodromo do Algarve, some of the finest historic cars currently in competition and if 2009 was anything to go by beautiful autumnal sunshine!
The intrepid travellers that joined us on our Algarve Historic Festival driving tour last year were not disappointed. Truly amazing driving roads from the picturesque and twisting Picos Mountains in Spain, to the flat empty dead straight roads across the plains made the journey between hotels a joy. Not forgetting some exploratory laps of the Portimao circuit as well. We planned sensible daily distances meaning that we arrived at our hotels in good time to both relax and explore historic towns such as Salamanca, Merida and Seville. Having arrived in the pretty resort of Alvor in Portugal, we were joined by those who flew into Faro for the Algarve Festival racing, making for a good group for the weekends activities.
