It is just four years since the Autodromo first hosted a race and, in that short time has already gained a reputation as one of the best circuits in Europe. Located in the hills above the resort of Portimao on Portugal's picturesque Algarve coast it is an exciting venue for competitors and spectators alike. The track is wide with challenging corners and dramatic rises and falls and is compared to the legendary Spa-Francorchamps and the Nordschleife – albeit with better weather! Spectator facilities are excellent. The new grandstands offer exceptional views, there's no shortage of parking and access is good.
Algarve Historic Festival grids in 2011, included FIA Historic Formula One Championship, Formula Junior, pre-66 Touring Cars, pre-61 and pre-66 F1 cars, the two-hour Stirling Moss Trophy feature race and pre-war Sports Cars.
Faro airport is easily reached with a large range of flights available from regional UK airports. From here you can take a shuttle, taxi or hire a car to your hotel where accommodation is reserved for you for three nights. Transfers to and from the circuit are included for Saturday and Sunday as are weekend race tickets with grandstand and paddock access.
