Angouleme Kyriad Champniers
5 Night Classic Tour


Our five night classic tour designed for classic cars taking in nice French roads, points of interest along the way, an overnight stop on the way down and the Saturday Rally in Angouleme. You will be supplied with race tickets giving you Paddock and Grandstand access on the Sunday. We also include dinner on the Friday evening in a top restaurant in town.

Wednesday 15 September

The tour starts in Portsmouth when the group convene on the 2030 Hrs sailing to St Malo. On board get to know your fellow rally companions as the ship sets sail.

Thursday 16 September

On arrival into France follow our suggested routes on pretty roads via a coffee stop overlooking le Mont St Michel en route to Le Mans. We will visit the recently revamped Le Mans museum and have lunch overlooking the circuit. There is the chance to drive the public parts of the circuit before heading on the road for Tours to our overnight stay at the ex Aston Martin Team hotel at La Chartre sur le Loir. We will have a welcome party with local wine producers in the square in front of the hotel upon arrival. This evening dinner is included at the hotel

Angouleme

Friday 17 September

After breakfast at the hotel, we have a very pretty drive down past Tours and through the Vienne valley, with a suggested coffee stop in one of regions prettiest villages. We have arranged a picnic lunch on the river Vienne before continuing into Angouleme. Having checked in to your chosen hotel in Angouleme we will distribute your rally packs and tickets over a welcome drink. Afterwards tonight is a free evening there is also the Concours d’elegance judging to go to.

Saturday 18 September

This morning the scenic rally departs on some very fine roads surrounding Angoulême. There are checkpoint/refreshment points along the way and an excellent lunch taken at a surprise location. This evening you have tickets for the competitor’s gala buffet in the covered market, where the results for the concours and the rally are announced.

Sunday 19 September

Today practice on the circuit takes place on the circuit during the morning sessions. After a decent lunch pause the racing starts in the afternoon. Your race tickets will get you into the paddock and grandstands. This evening we have organised a farewell dinner at a top restaurant in the town.

Monday 20 September

After breakfast at the hotel make your way make to the port in Caen for the 1630 Hrs ferry back to Portsmouth or alternatively speak to us about extending your stay in France.

3 night tour
16-20 September
For those with slightly less time and that do not wish to take part in the Saturday rally we have designed the following option.


Thursday 16 September

Take the overnight ferry from Portsmouth to Caen departing at 2245 Hrs arriving at 0645 Hrs the following morning. Onboard accommodation is reserved for you

Friday 17 September

Take the direct routes down to Angouleme to arrive in town by the afternoon. This evening meet your fellow travellers at a welcome drinks party in town. The rest of the evening is free to soak up the atmosphere in town.

Saturday 18 September

Today you have the option to watch the cars competing on the Rally from the start point and along the route that they take. Or you can simply explore Angouleme itself as the race cars arrive into town, take a look at the circuit before they close the roads that evening in preparation for Sunday’s racing. There are many restaurants to pick from at lunchtime too. This evening you have tickets for the competitors gala buffet in the centre of town where local producers bring in delicacies for you to try before the awards ceremony.

Sunday 19 September

Race tickets are supplied that give you access to the Paddock and grandstands. There is plenty going on in the parc fermé areas in between the racing.

Monday 20 September

After breakfast at the hotel make you way back to the port of Caen for the 1630 Hrs sailing arriving back into Portsmouth at 2130 Hrs
