Overview

Bahrain was home to the first Arabian F1 Grand Prix back in 2004 at the World-class Bahrain International Circuit where no visit will disappoint. There are various places to eat and shops where you can purchase merchandise and souvenirs. With a mix of people from different cultures and nationalities, Bahrain is a friendly place to visit that continues to attract tourists from around the world.

As well as being a prime location for an exciting F1 race, Bahrain has plenty more to offer. If you're into history and enjoy learning about different cultures then Bahrain will definitely be a favourite. You can choose to take some time out from the Grand Prix in one of the gardens of Manama or visit one of their many historical places such as Bar Bar Temple or Arad Fort, Bahrain's most imperative fortified castle.

If history isn't your strong point then perhaps a boat ride to one of the Islands is more your thing; Hawer Islands are 45 minutes away from the mainland and offer complete tranquillity with crystal clear waters, white sandy beaches and a handful of watersports to choose from.

Back on the mainland you will come across traditional souqs where you can barter for local crafts and indulge in a typical Bahraini dish such as muhammar, a sweet rice dish served with dates. The busy side streets are lined with Arabic coffee houses where you can relax, unwind and watch the world go by.
