The Italian Grand Prix track at Monza is located north of Milan in a former royal park – a peaceful and graceful setting for the 2017 Italian Grand Prix and the fastest race on the Formula One calendar. Just under an hour from Lake Como where our 2017 Italian Grand Prix hotels are located.
Around the lake the forested mountains descend almost to the water’s edge where small towns and villages nestle in the bays and inlets. On a clear day the sun glistens on the deep still water, disturbed only by the passing of the ferry boats and the occasional fisherman. Magnificent palazzos and villas are partially hidden on the hillsides or sit majestically lakeside with private moorings and immaculate, terraced gardens.
From a ferry boat you can really appreciate the scenery and it is an ideal way to get about. They criss cross Lake Como, taking locals to work and tourists to play and you can hop on and off as you wish. Wherever you alight you will find lakeside restaurants serving good pasta, lake fish and crisp wines and you may even happen upon a local market where you can buy all manner of delicacies. A weekend on the lake is the perfect antidote to the frenzy of Monza Park and the 2017 Italian Grand Prix.
