If pootling through rural France is your idea of heaven then this is the perfect race. The circuit is in the Nievre, just south of the vineyards of Sancerre and Pouilly and east of the historic city of Bourges. The River Loire and its tributaries flow gently through the landscape for boating pleasure and little restaurants abound offering simple menus of superbly presented local produce. In the heart of this rural idyll is the Magny Cours circuit.
Our hotels are in Bourges where there’s no shortage of restaurants to suit all tastes and where shopping is a pleasure in the narrow, cobbled streets of the old town. The journey from here to the circuit will take you just under an hour and circuit parking is included. At the track, access is well-planned and well-organised. The car parks are not far from the circuit entrance and once you are inside there’s plenty of food and drink available.
The 2007 French Grand Prix revitalised the championship battle. The McLarens of Hamilton and Alonso were no match at this track for the Ferraris who dominated the race. Hamilton clung on to take third place and stay ahead overall. |
