Fly from London, Birmingham, Manchester or Edinburgh to Amsterdam to connect with the evening flight by KLM to Kuala Lumpur.
Wednesday 31 March
On arrival you will be met and taken by coach south to Melaka where you stay for two nights in the Equatorial Hotel. The hotel is in the centre of town within walking distance of most of the sights as well as a choice of restaurants.Thursday 1 April
After breakfast you will be taken on a guided sightseeing tour of Melaka, unfolding its growth from a sleepy fishing village to its heights of glory as the gateway to the riches of Asia. The afternoon is free to relax by the pool, to stroll at leisure along Jonkers Street, explore the waterfront or take a short cruise along the river.Friday 2 April
Leave Melaka after breakfast for the drive north to Kuala Lumpur. On arrival you check in to the Equatorial Hotel where you stay for three nights. In the afternoon you will be taken on a tour of
the city where the sights will include the Petronas Twin Towers, the Royal Palace, the Royal Selangor Pewter factory and KL Tower. You will return to the hotel in the late afternoon.
Saturday 3 & Sunday 4 April
At leisure in Kuala Lumpur to enjoy as you wish or to take the coach transfers to the circuit for practice and qualifying on Saturday and for the race on Sunday.Monday 5 April
Depart for the airport this morning and the flight to Kuching. On arrival you will be taken on an orientation tour of the city before continuing to the Hilton Hotel where you stay for three nights. The hotel is on the banks of the Sarawak River where the narrow streets are full of temples, markets and Chinese shophouses selling local handicrafts.Tuesday 6 April
This morning you leave the hotel early for a visit to the nearby Semenggok animal rehabilitation centre. The orang utans are semi-wild and trained to survive in the surrounding forest reserve. They roam freely and return to the centre at feeding time.
You then return to the hotel with time to take lunch and relax a while before the afternoon visit to the Sarawak Cultural Village. It is a living museum showcasing Sarawak's unique and diverse cultures. In a 17 acre site you will see many of the ethnic tribes at work - carving, weaving, sago-making and pepper growing and you can even learn to shoot a blowpipe.
Wednesday 7 April
Today is free to enjoy as you wish. Optional tours will be available if you want to see more of Sarawak's natural treasures. On a day trip to Bako National Park you will travel by coach and longboat, see the mangroves, carniverous pitcher plants and strangling figs. The most famous residents are the proboscis monkeys and you may also see long-tailed macaques, wild boar, flying squirrels and monitor lizards.Alternatively, on a half day cruise through the mangroves swamps you will see many marine and reptile species. It is an important feeding ground for a rich array of birds and deep in the mangroves you will stop at a fishing village and charcoal factory.
Thursday 8 April
Today we leave for the airport and the short flight to Kota Kinabalu. On arrival you transfer to the Nexus Resort Hotel where you stay for four nights. In over 3000 acres of lush landscaping it is a beachfront resort. With eight restaurants, three swimming pools, golf course and spa there's everything you need for a restful few days. Bedrooms are spacious with excellent amenities.
Friday 9 to Sunday 11 April
Free at the resort to enjoy as you wish.
Monday 12 April
Free until your transfer to the airport for the evening flight to Kuala Lumpur to connect with your onward flight to Amsterdam.
Tuesday 13 April
On arrival connect with your flight to London, Birmingham, Manchester or Edinburgh.
