Bio Fuel now being used in France
The premium-95-E10, which is a new fuel containing up to 10% by volume of ethanol will be gradually distributed to service stations from 1 April 2009.
Why this new fuel?
* The marketing of this premium-95-E10 will help achieve the objectives of integration provided by the French biofuel plan, particularly the target of 7% in energy in 2010.
What vehicles are compatible?
* It is compatible with 60% of petrol vehicles currently in circulation e.g. post 2000, and with the vast majority of new vehicles.
* The fuel therefore will eventually be fully compatible with all new cars.
* For other vehicles, it is advisable to continue to use premium grade 95 or 98, whose distribution will be maintained.
What are the characteristics of SP95-E10?
* Its main features, apart from its content of ethanol or equivalent, are identical to those of premium-grade MS 95.
* The SP95-E10 is also consistent with specifications set by the European directive on fuel quality, the latest amendment was enacted under the energy-climate package.
In conclusion
We recommend that classic cars do not use the new bio fuel 95 - E10 instead continue to use premium grade 95, which is still widely available.
Drivers of performance vehicules should also avoid the bio fuel and use the premium grade 95 or 98.
Thomas gets a treat in Pau!
Thomas could not believe his luck when good client Martin Overington asked him to drive his 1930's Blower Bentley to the circuit whilst on the Grand Prix de Pau Historique tour. After a driving lesson from Martin to get used to its idiosyncratics such as the throttle pedal and the brake pedal being the wrong way around, the starting procedure following a lengthy check list and 10 minutes to prepare for and a gearbox that requires double declutching both up and down the gears, not to mention the tank-like weight of the steering! Thomas was reminded on the test drive that the gear box alone would require a £5000 rebuild if mistreated and that the car itself is worth in the region of a million pounds. Fortunately the driving test was passed and the car reached the circuit on race day without incident!

Fans Club Formula 1 Hospitality
There's now a very affordable way to enjoy the race from a reserved seat in a covered grandstand and some very fine hospitality in an air-conditioned restaurant. With prices starting at just £150 per person (for qualifying on Saturday 12 September), it offers a real and reasonable alternative to just a grandstand seat and to other high-priced hospitality arrangements. ASTON MARTIN EXCEEDS ALL EXPECTATIONS AT LE MANSAs expected, the diesel-powered cars enjoyed a margin of superiority, but Aston Martin Racing fulfilled its mission of being the first petrol car home, having also been the quickest of the petrol cars during qualifying on Thursday night.
HSCC Historic Formula Ford - Fowler slips easily back into his winning ways!
After a relatively quiet year of competition for Neil Fowler in 2008 in order to concentrate on building up his race car preparation business, 'Neil Fowler Motorsports', 2009 has started with a bang - and fortunately not in the 'blown up engine' sense!
Neil is competing in the Historic Formula Ford 2000 championship run by the HSCC. Donington saw the 1st round take place in early April and the team unloaded two freshly prepared Reynard SF79's, glistening in their identical bright yellow livery. Neil qualified on pole and although his start was a little shaky and he was not in first place by the first corner, he certainly was by the end of the first lap. He continued to dominate the race, finishing over 12 seconds clear of the 2nd placed car.
On to Cadwell Park where, after one lap of qualifying the shock absorber broke on Neil's car meaning a starting position of 12th and leaving him a bit of work to do in the race. After the 1st lap he was in 6th position and by lap 5 he was in the lead, which is where he stayed.
The most recent race was at Silverstone on 9 May where normality resumed. Neil qualified on pole and finished quite comfortably ahead of the field.
Can anyone stop him this season?
