Grand Prix de Pau

Tuesday 10 May

Join the tour in Portsmouth for the overnight sailing to St Malo. On board and after settling in to your cabin, we will meet in the cocktail bar and get to know other participants on the tour. Afterwards you can take dinner at your leisure in the on-board restaurant.

Wednesday 11 May

Disembarking at 0830 hours we begin the journey south. You are free to visit one of our favourite coffee stops, at the superb Manoir de l'Automobile - a fine collection of 400 road and racing cars tracing the history of the automobile. After a good chance to look around and some refreshment you continue to La Rochelle and your hotel in the old port. Dinner is included this evening at your hotel.

Thursday 12 May

Today you continue along the coast to Rochefort where you are able to check on the progress of the faithful recreation of l'Hermione, the 18th century frigate used to aid the American insurgents as they struggled for their independence.

Grand Prix de Pau From here we suggest you take lunch in an oyster park for some of the freshest Atlantic seafood available! Afterwards it's a scenic drive down the Gironde estuary to your overnight stop in Beguey. Dinner is booked for you in the hotel's excellent restaurant with fine wines of the region included.

Friday 13 May

Today we suggest a pleasant route down to Pau, stopping for lunch at your leisure before continuing to Pau to arrive in the late afternoon. This evening we will gather and walk the short distance to the venue of the gala dinner arranged by the event organiser. Return to the hotel at your leisure.
