San Marino Grand Prix - Imola

Pit action!The San Marino Grand Prix is always eagerly awaited as it is traditionally the first European race of the season. Spring is in the air and the weather is good enough to sit outside at restaurants and cafes enjoying the return of the warm sunshine.

Imola is in the heart of Ferrari country and in 2005 Michael responded to the home crowd with a thrilling comeback to push Alonso every inch of the way for the last twelve laps. It was nose-to-tail but Alonso stayed cool to clock up his third win and a clean sweep so far for Renault.

We expect no less than a nailbiting race from Imola. Long straights, a tight hairpin and fast bends ensure constant entertainment for the crowds. Join us in Modena for a Grand Prix weekend to remember.

Thursday 20 April
Check in at London Heathrow for your Alitalia flight, via Milan, to Bologna departing at 0600h. Arriving at 1140h you will be met and taken to Bologna where there will be free time in the city for lunch. Afterwards we will visit the Ducati Museum to see the impressive collection of road bikes and race winners. Later we continue to Modena and to our hotel, the four star Canalgrande where you will enjoy a welcome drink while checking in. After an afternoon guided tour of Modena we leave by coach to Nonantula to visit a producer of the local Lambrusco wine and balsamic vinegar. After the visit and tastings we will have dinner in a local trattoria before returning to Modena.

Friday 21 April
After breakfast we will visit a dairy producing the famous Parmesan cheese. Later we continue to Maranello and the Ferrari Gallery where you will have plenty of time to enjoy the many exhibitions. The legends and history of Ferrari and its founder are all on display in this impressive modern museum. Lunch will then be taken at the Montana restaurant close to the Fiorano test track and in the afternoon we continue to a local vineyard for a visit and tasting of more of the region’s wines before returning to the hotel in the late afternoon. In the early evening we leave for the Hotel Real Fini for a cocktail party with a race celebrity. Enjoy drinks and hors d’oeuvres and hear the very latest on the teams and drivers for the weekend.

Saturday 22 April
Today you can join us at the circuit for practice, qualifying and supporting events or enjoy a leisurely day in Modena.

Sunday 23 April
We leave this morning for Imola and the Grand Prix, returning to our hotel in the late afternoon. The evening is free to relax and enjoy as you wish.

Monday 24 April
After breakfast we check out and leave for the Lamborghini Museum where you will have time to see the impressive collection of cars on display. Afterwards we continue to the airport where you check in for your return flight to London Heathrow. Arrival is scheduled for 1550h.
