Sunday 11 April
Check in at Gatwick Airport for the early afternoon flight to Bologna with British Airways. Upon arrival you will be met by your tour manager and taken by coach to Modena. This evening, after a welcome glass of sparkling prosecco, dinner will be in the adjoining restaurant. After dinner a grappa or two in the bar is optional!
Monday 12 April
After an excellent buffet breakfast we board our coach bound for the state-of-the-art Maserati factory showroom, where we can admire the latest models and pick the colour scheme on a dream purchase! From here we take a full tour of this historic factory. The coach will then take us around Modena to the Stanguellini collection for a fascinating and very personal visit of the museum. Stanguellini is the oldest producer of both road and racing cars in the city.
It is just a 5 minute drive into Modena from here for some free time and lunch in the historic centre. This will be followed by a surprise visit before returning to the hotel. This evening we will have a taste of Ferrari when we head over to visit Maranello and to Michael Schumacher’s favourite restaurant for dinner.
Tuesday 13 April
Today we will see a contrast between a young Supercar producer; Pagani, famous for the beautiful Zonda, before visiting the mighty Lamborghini factory where there is a fine collection of their cars on view and where we take a look around the production facility too. Afterwards we will adjourn to a traditional Osteria (country restaurant) for lunch and visit to their balsamic vinegar production. There will be a chance to sample and purchase if you wish before we leave. This afternoon we return to Modena for some free time in the town before the bus takes us back to the hotel for the evening.
Wednesday 14 April
Checking out after breakfast we will add to both our Ferrari and Maserati experiences when we first visit the Panini collection of cars and motorcycles located on an important Parmesan cheese farm, with a chance to buy the best cheese at very reasonable prices compared to UK supermarkets! From here we continue into Maranello for a visit to the Galleria Ferrari and souvenir shops before lunch in the Cavallino restaurant opposite the Ferrari factory gates and a chance to see new, even sometimes experimental models leaving the factory gates as well as racing or road cars running on the Fiorano track. We then continue to Bologna Airport for the early evening return flight to London Gatwick.
