All the hard work you put into planning our trip was well worth it!!!

Just thought I would let you know that all the hard work you put into planning our trip was well worth it!!!

We were gobsmacked to be met at Montreal airport by an extended white limo – just for 4 of us!!!   The driver was so courteous and helpful.

The hotel in Montreal was also lovely (and the breakfast is good!)

The metro tickets were so useful and the Grandstand rep was very helpful.

Not sure if this will be useful information for any others but:

  • There is a supermarket just outside the back door of the hotel – useful for any forgotten extras.
  • There are lots of bars and cafes just around the corner too.
  • If anyone looks to book Grandstands 11 and 12 at the race – the view is excellent – just as they are pulling away from the start line – but prepare people for the fact that it is about a 45 minute walk from the entrance.  We knew it was the furthest away – but it is a lovely walk through the park area – and the weather was fantastic for us.  We could stroll at our pace and let the youngsters whizz ahead!

The train trip was a brilliant way to transfer to Toronto – much less stressful than airports!   The taxi fare was about 15 dollars.  They have a “checked in” luggage system the same as airports – which is also so helpful – not having to lug suitcases up and down the escalators!

The hotel you booked is literally over the road from Union Station and was fabulous.  The “classic room” was huge compared to standard rooms here at home – and the staff on reception, particularly the “concierge” advisor guy were so helpful.  Really kind and happy to phone the transfer company for us. They also gave us (and some others who had travelled with you) a complimentary extension to our room until 3.00 pm on the day of departure which was ideal.

The Niagara trip was so worth it too – lots to see and the lunch was superb!!!

Again, the driver was excellent and full of information.

The only shame (which was entirely down to the airplane “gods”) was that the plane meant to bring us home, developed a maintenance issue and so we had to wait for another one to come in – causing a 3 hour delay at Toronto.  Still, these things happen and there were a lot of people worse off than us due to missing connections at Heathrow.

So – just want to say Thank you to you and your team for putting together such a wonderful trip.  For a couple of “oldies” like us – it was something to remember always.
