Formula 1 returns to Portimão for the 2027 and 2028 seasons, bringing the Grand Prix back to the spectacular Algarve International Circuit after several years away from the calendar. Located in the Algarve region of southern Portugal, the circuit is renowned for its dramatic elevation changes, flowing layout and challenging corners, which produced several memorable races during its recent appearances in 2020 and 2021. The combination of competitive racing, warm climate and coastal setting made Portimão an immediate favourite with fans and drivers alike, and we’re looking forward to returning to one of Europe’s most distinctive Formula 1 venues.
