The US Grand Prix takes place in the Live Music Capital of the World - Austin, Texas. Circuit of the Americas (COTA) is an innovative, world-class destination situated on 1000 acres of ground with striking views of Downtown Austin.

Austin is a laid-back city. During the day you could take a trip to Barton Springs Pool for a swim in the natural spring or head to SoCo for an eclectic array of shops and boutiques. Come night time you will be spoilt for choice as to where to spend your evening. The city is alive with local bands playing all kinds of music from jazz-funk and acoustic rhythms to Latin Sambas. If it's good food you're looking for then rest-assured, Austin is well-known for its restaurants serving up cuisine from all around the world. Be sure to try 'The Salt Lick or Iron Works'.

Itinerary

4 Nights Austin 

Thursday 21 October
Fly with United Airlines from London Heathrow at 0930 via Houston with arrival into Austin at 1730. On arrival we recommend you take a taxi to your hotel where four night's accommodation is reserved on buffet breakfast basis.  Our representative will be available during the weekend to assist you.

Friday 22 October
At leisure. We recommend taking a city tour, which can be enjoyed by boat or minibus accompanied by a local Austin guide - these can be reserved on arrival.

Saturday 23 & Sunday 24 October
Return transfers to the Grand Prix circuit are included on both days and will be accompanied by our representative.

Monday 25 October
Make your way back to Austin Airport for your flight departing at 1730, arriving into Houston at 1830. Your onward flight will leave at 2020.

Tuesday 26 October
Arrival into Heathrow is scheduled for 1035.

Travelling by yourself?  Want to share a twin and not pay a single supplement?
Following feedback we are offering single travellers the opportunity of sharing with a fellow passenger on our trip to this race.  If you wish to share and there is another person that wishes to share we will pair you up subject to availability. Should you make a reservation and we do not have any other travellers wishing to share we regret that you would be charged the usual single supplement. 

All flights are subject to availability at the time of booking and should any supplements apply you will be advised before your booking is confirmed.

US Grand Prix & Mexican Grand Prix - combined itinerary 

Thursday 21 October
Fly from London Heathrow via Houston to Austin. On arrival we recommend you take a taxi to your hotel, the Lone Star Court hotel (Austin), where four night's accommodation is reserved on buffet breakfast basis.  Our representative will be available during the weekend to assist you.

Friday 22 October
At leisure. We recommend taking a city tour, which can be enjoyed by boat or minibus accompanied by a local Austin guide - these can be reserved on arrival.

Saturday 23 & Sunday 24 October
Return transfers to the Grand Prix circuit are included on both days and you will be accompanied by our representative.

Monday 25 October
Transfer by Greyhound Coach between Austin and San Antonio. On arrival, we recommend your transfer by taxi to your accommodation, the Crockett Hotel, where three nights accommodation is reserved for you on a bed and breakfast basis.

Tuesday 26 & Wednesday 27 October
At leisure in San Antonio. Pay a visit to the historic The Alamo, join a sightseeing tour of the town or jump on a River Barge and take a cruise through downtown. San Antonio is full of history, culture and modern and attractions to enjoy and explore. 

Thursday 28 October
Travel by taxi to San Antonio airport. Fly from San Antonio to Mexico City. On arrival, you will be met and taken to your hotel in Mexico City, which is reserved for you for five nights on a bed and breakfast basis.

Friday 29 October
At leisure in Mexico City or consider an optional excursion to the historic Teotihuacan Pyramids. Other tours and excursions can also be arranged, please ask for more details. 

Saturday 30 October & Sunday 31 October
After breakfast we will depart for the circuit to watch the practice, qualifying and the Grand Prix. Also taking place over the weekend is one of Mexico's biggest celebrations - Día de los Muertos, also known as Day of the Dead.

Monday 1 or Tuesday 2 November 
Today is free to explore Mexico City. Again excursions and tours can be arranged for you.

Tuesday 2 November 
Free time until your transfer to the airport for your return flight to Heathrow. This will again connect through the USA before your arrival back into Heathrow the next day.

Circuit & Tickets

The Circuit of the Americas (COTA) is designed to be one of the best in the world and has all the ingredients to create a racing experience like no other. Features have been taken from the 'classic' circuits, combined with modern adaptations to incorporate 20 exhilarating turns that require high levels of skill from the drivers, guaranteed to have you on the edge of your seat!

General Admission
Located at different positions around the track, the grassed areas are comfortably inclined to offer great views of the race.

Main Grandstand
On the main straight opposite the pits.  The prices dictate the various viewing levels with trackside as it sounds and Club at the top of the stand. 

Turn 1
This will be one of the best places for drivers to pass each other on the track, so fans can be sure to see plenty of action during the race. Climbing nearly 130 feet betweeen the start/finish line Turn 1 Grandstand boasts amazing views down the Main Straight and of the Texas countryside. As the nimble F1 cars head out of Turn 1 the track plunges downhill to Turn 2. You will also have views of downtown Austin in the background.

Turn 15
Turn 15 offers a panoramic view of a large section of the track Fans will have an unparalled view of the cars as they swerve down from Turn 5 to Turn 11. After that they will see the cars come out of Turn 11, accelerating down the long back straight where the drivers will reach a top speed of 200 mph before braking hard for Turn 12. The Turn 15 Grandstand provides a close view of the drivers as they skilfully steer through the hairpin turns, heading towards the sweeping Turn 16.

Turn 12
Fans seated in the upper level of the Grandstand will have generous views of most of the track. Lower levels will be focused on the cars coming off of the fastest part of the track and braking before heading into a series of very sharp turns.
