After much antipication, the provisional Formula 1 2022 calendar has finally been announced. The 2022 season will be bigger than ever, with a total of 23 races taking place between March and Novemver.
Key changes for 2022 include a brand new race in Miami in early May, with the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix at Imola replacing China in April.
The Saudi Arabian Grand Prix will move from the end of the season to the start of the season, taking place as the second race of the season after the Bahrain Grand Prix. Historically always the first race of the season, the Australian Grand Prix will move to being the third race in 2022.
F1 Testing in 2022 will take place in two destinations (and two continents!). Always a popular event for our clients, there will be a week's testing in Barcelona at the end of February followed by 3 days in Bahrain in early March.

The 2021 Formula 1 provisional race calendar has been announced. It features a total of 23 races, with a brand new night race planned to be staged in Saudi Arabia in November and the removal of the Vietnamese Grand Prix from the schedule.
As with previous race calendars, the season will start in Melbourne in March and will end in Abu Dhabi in December.
Chase Carey, Chairman and CEO of Formula 1, said: “We are pleased to announce the 2021 Formula 1 provisional calendar after extensive conversations with our promoters, the teams and the FIA. We are planning for 2021 events with fans that provide an experience close to normal and expect our agreements to be honoured.
“We have proven that we can safely travel and operate our races and our promoters increasingly recognise the need to move forward and manage the virus. In fact, many hosts actually want to use our event as a platform to show the world they are moving forward.
“We are delighted to see Saudi Arabia become part of the schedule and are equally excited to return to the venues we hoped to race at in 2020. We want to thank all our promoters and partners for their ongoing enthusiasm and collaboration and look forward to giving our fans an exciting season on the track.”
