2027 F1 Calendar Announced: Full Race Schedule & Dates
Formula 1 and the FIA have unveiled the 2027 FIA Formula One World Championship calendar, with 24 Grands Prix across 22 countries and a record 10 Sprint events set to take place throughout the season.
The 2027 season will begin in Bahrain in March before travelling through the Middle East, Asia, North America and Europe, with the calendar also marking the return of Portugal and Türkiye to the Formula 1 schedule.
The season will conclude with races in Las Vegas, Qatar and Abu Dhabi, with Abu Dhabi also becoming one of the new Sprint venues for 2027.
A Record 10 Sprint Weekends
One of the biggest changes for 2027 is the expansion of the Sprint format.
Formula 1 will stage 10 Sprint events, up from six in 2026. Bahrain, Australia, Japan, Monaco and Abu Dhabi will host a Sprint for the first time, while Montréal, Silverstone, Monza, São Paulo and Lusail will return as Sprint venues.
According to Formula 1, data from previous Sprint weekends shows that total viewership is 12% higher than non-Sprint weekends, while 82% of attendees at Sprint events say the format adds value to their ticket.
The inclusion of Monaco is particularly notable. The famous Monte Carlo street circuit will host a Sprint for the first time, giving fans two qualifying sessions across the weekend and adding another competitive session to one of Formula 1’s most historic events.
Portugal and Türkiye Return to the F1 Calendar
The 2027 calendar also brings back two venues that have been absent from Formula 1 since 2021.
The Portuguese Grand Prix returns to the Algarve International Circuit in Portimão from 18–20 June. The circuit last hosted Formula 1 in 2021 and is known for its significant elevation changes, flowing corners and distinctive layout.
Later in the season, Formula 1 returns to Istanbul Park for the Turkish Grand Prix from 1–3 October. The race sits between Azerbaijan and Singapore, giving the calendar a new European-Asian transition during the autumn phase.
Istanbul Park is returning as part of a five-year agreement that will keep Türkiye on the F1 calendar through 2031, subject to the relevant circuit requirements.
Bahrain Opens the 2027 Season
For the first time since 2021, the Bahrain Grand Prix will open the Formula 1 season.
The race takes place at the Bahrain International Circuit from 12–14 March, followed a week later by the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix in Jeddah.
Before the racing begins, Bahrain will also host pre-season testing from 24–27 February, giving teams their first opportunity to evaluate their cars ahead of the new campaign.
From Saudi Arabia, the championship heads to Australia, Japan and China, creating an early-season run of long-haul races before Formula 1 moves towards North America and Europe.
The European Season
The European phase begins with the Monaco Grand Prix from 4–6 June.
Monaco will be followed by Portugal, before the championship heads to the British Grand Prix at Silverstone.
The traditional European summer continues with the Austrian Grand Prix, Belgian Grand Prix and Hungarian Grand Prix before the championship takes its traditional summer break.
Formula 1 then returns to Europe in September for the Italian Grand Prix at Monza and the Spanish Grand Prix in Madrid.
A Busy Final Phase of the Season
After Madrid, the championship heads to Azerbaijan and Türkiye before continuing to Singapore.
The Azerbaijan Grand Prix takes place in Baku from 24–26 September, followed by the return of the Turkish Grand Prix at Istanbul Park.
The Singapore Grand Prix follows from 8–10 October before the championship heads across the Atlantic for the final run of races.
The closing section of the season features the United States Grand Prix in Austin, the Mexico City Grand Prix, the São Paulo Grand Prix and the Las Vegas Grand Prix.
The championship then returns to the Middle East for the Qatar Grand Prix and Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, with both featuring Sprint events in 2027.
