March sees the long-awaited release of MotoGP Unlimited, a docu-series giving fans unprecedented insight into the riders and teams, following their progress throughout the 2021 season.
The series will be very much like Netflix’s incredibly popular Drive to Survive docu-series about the Formula 1 season. Drive to Survive follows the season’s milestones including Quartararo’s journey to winning the 2021 world title, 2020’s world champion Joan Mir’s struggles with Suzuki, Marc Marquez’s return from injury, Vinales’ suspension and of course Valentino Rossi’s final season and farewell to MotoGP.
In addition to the riders themselves, the series also focuses on some of the stories relating to team personnel and team bosses.
The series will comprise of eight episodes, premiering on Amazon Prime on 14th March 2022. Perfect timing to whet the appetite of fans with the 2022 MotoGP season getting underway the in Qatar just the weekend before.
The 2022 MotoGP season will be the first season since Valentino Rossi’s retirement. We recently surveyed some of our customers to see whether The Doctor’s absence from the sport would put them off wanting to travel to MotoGP races this year and beyond.
Results signify that most fans have not been deterred, with 59% of those surveyed saying that Valentino Rossi’s retirement would not make them less likely to travel to a MotoGP race this year or beyond. 76% said they planned to travel to an overseas race next year or beyond with a smaller percentage (41%) intending to travel overseas in 2022. 73% of people said a main motivation for booking a trip to a MotoGP race was the atmosphere of ‘being there’, which we fully support. We hope that those who may be missing Rossi this season will be inspired by the MotoGP docu-series on Amazon Prime.
